September 20, Tuesday
1000 Islands Food Fest
6-8 pm

1000 Islands Environmental Center and the Wisconsin Restaurant Association will be hosting an evening of great food featuring 9 different area restaurants.  Tickets, $20 in advance or $25 at the door, can be purchased at 1000 Islands or participating restaurants.  Proceeds will benefit the Fox Valley Technical College Culinary School and 1000 Islands.  Call 766-4733 for more information.

Bears Cub Scout Clinic: Take Care of Your Planet and What’s Cooking
1-3 pm

Learn more about how your everyday activities affect the environment and how you can make simple changes at home to help take care of your planet.  All registered scouts will be making their own snacks with an environmental twist.  Pre-registration and payment required.

Don Waller, Professor of Botany and Environmental Studies at UW-Madison will talk about the impacts that our growing deer herd have on people and the environment as well as what we need to do to address these impacts.

Wildlife Rehabilitation: An Innovative Approach To Conservation

What is wildlife rehabilitation? Learn about the who, what, when, where, and why of wildlife rescue and care. It's wildlife conservation though the care of individual injured, sick, and orphaned wild animals. Find out how.

Wolves Cub Scout Clinic: Your Living World and Fishing Electives

Experience the fun of fishing and learn some basic skills while understanding the importance of preserving our environment.  Pre-registration and payment required.

Basket Weaving Workshop
10 am – 2 pm

Get in the Christmas spirit by making yourself or loved one a napkin basket in this introductory basket weaving workshop.  Cost $10.00 per person.  Call 766-4733 to register at least 2 weeks in advance.

1000 Islands Bald Eagles

Learn about the history of the Bald Eagles and their current status in the Fox Valley Area.

Moonlit Snowshoe Hike
6-7:30 pm.
 
Enjoy the full moon while hiking the trails.  Snowshoes will be provided.  *Please arrive ½ hour early if you will need assistance putting on snowshoes or for a quick lesson.

Pancake and Porkie Breakfast
9 am – 1 pm.
 
Join the Kaukauna Kiwanis for pancakes and porkies with 1000 Islands homemade maple syrup and learn more about the history of the sugar bush and how maple syrup is made.  A ticket is required for the breakfast and can be purchased at the door.

Citizen Science Monitoring: Bats
6-7 pm.

Join Jodi Sedlock, Associate Professor of Biology at Lawrence University, to learn more about Wisconsin’s bats, white nose fungus, and the threat that is poses to bats and our ecosystems.  Learn how to become involved in the Fox Valley area Citizen Science Monitoring program to help track the local populations.

April 21, Saturday              
Spring Clean-Up
9 am – 12 pm.
 
Celebrate Earth Day by helping to beautify the 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone.  Clean up litter, bark trails or help battle the invasive species.  Bring work gloves if you have them!  Lunch will be provided after the clean up.
